GUATEMALA

Because we work primarily through our partner charities, we do not have volunteer opportunities in Guatemala. If you are interested in volunteering with a partner charity in Guatemala, please consider:

-Do you speak Spanish?

-What specific skill sets can you bring to a project that can not be found in-country?

-How long are you available for volunteer work? Short-term assignments are difficult because of the up-front coordination, beginning orientation, and transition in/out that is involved.

Please keep in mind that volunteering in Guatemala is sometimes not the best option. We believe that immersion experiences, where volunteers or visitors learn about a different culture and way of life, is also very important. Before deciding on a volunteer experience in Guatemala (or any country), you may want to read this blog that gives one person’s perspective.
